What should I do if I have forgotten my password; if I have blocked my account? Who to contact?


Employees who have an account on the econom server may change it:

    in person in AITC in room 4/15,

Students who have an account on edu.uekat server may change it:

    in person in AITC in room 4/15,
    ROND students who have an account on the econom server may change it by phone only from the dean’s office in ROND or by mail – adm.konta@uekat.pl

Accounts in the Google Apps service
It is recommended to configure your account according to the security offered by Google, i.e. provide a secondary e-mail address and phone number.
If it is not possible to recover the password with the above method, you must report in person at AITC, room 4/15.

How to recover the password to my e-mail account?


Accounts on the University e-mail server only.

The password cannot be recovered, but it can be changed to a temporary one.

Password reset takes place from Monday to Friday between 8.30 and 15.00

Users who have not provided data for password recovery must report in person to the IT Centre, building AITC room 4/15.

The password may be changed as follows:

    Send a request to change the password to the address odzyskajhaslo@ue.katowice.pl. The sender’s e-mail address must match the e-mail address provided in the data for password recovery. Enter the name of the e-mail account in the subject line. Example: Please unlock the e-mail account: user.

    An employee will send a confirmation request to the e-mail address provided in the data for password recovery.

    Following confirmation, a temporary password will be sent, and that one must be changed according to this procedure.

Students who have lost their e-mail password to the Google Apps for Education domain may change it:

    in person at the IT Centre, building AITC in room 4/15

Students are required to present a student ID!

Which server should I set to receive and send e-mails?



Users with an account on the server ekonom.ue.katowice.pl:

    IMAP server: imap.ue.katowice.pl, port: 143 (without encryption), 993 (SSL/TLS encryption)

    POP3 server: pop.ue.katowice.pl, port: 110 (without encryption), 995 (SSL/TLS encryption)

    SMTP server: smtp.ue.katowice.pl, port: 587, authentication enabled (possibly STARTTLS encryption enabled)

    E-mail address: login@ue.katowice.pl (for employees – in accordance with the Rector’s Regulation)

Account name: login

If an encrypted connection is chosen, the server names remain the same. This type of connection is recommended.

Authentication must be enabled.

How to set an auto reply (autoresponder/vacation)?


Roundcube
Log in to your account, then choose the Settings in the menu and the Filters tab, choose the active Set of filters (if there is none, click the + sign, enter any name and click Save).



    Click the + sign in the Filters column.
    Provide the name of the Autoresponder filter, choose those that meet all of the following criteria,
    choose From / exists,
    then add the criterion and choose and enter X-Spam-Flag/equal and enter NO
    choose From / contains, enter ue.katowice.pl
    choose Reply with a message and fill in the fields,
    then enter your e-mail address or addresses with the active autoresponder or click “Fill with all my addresses“, addresses from Identities will be filled automatically,
    in the Frequency field enter 1,
    Confirm by clicking Save.

Such setting of the autoresponder will send replies only to messages that are not classified as SPAM.


To turn off the automatic reply, choose the active filter set from the Filters menu, then click on the filter with the autoresponder and check Filter disabled. Confirm by clicking Save. The filter enables advanced automatic replies depending on different conditions.

How to set an alias in RoundCube?



RoundCube

    Log in to the e-mail.
    Click – Settings – Identities.
    Choose the identity that we want to change.
    In the Name field enter: first name and surname.
    In the E-mail field, enter alias, e.g. jan.kowalski@ue.katowice.pl.
    Click Save.

Creating a new identity.

    Log in to the e-mail.
    Click – Settings – Identities – New identity.
    In the Name field enter: first name and surname.
    In the E-mail field, enter alias, e.g. jan.kowalski@ue.katowice.pl.
    Click Save.
    When sending, choose a new identity.
