How to get access to databases (e.g. library) from outside the UE computer network?

Attention!
Requires a wireless access account

A wireless access account may be created here.

Set up a proxy server in the web browser.

Following the configuration, close the browser and reopen it!

To make it easier, one may use an alternative browser that will be used to access library databases only.

To check whether the configuration is correct, go to any website, e.g. google.com.

If the browser is configured correctly, the login window will be displayed.

Following providing the correct login details ( the same as to the wireless network – enter e.g. your_user_name@ekonom.ue.katowice.pl or first name.surname@edu.uekat.pl as the username), the destination page will be opened.

After finishing work, restore the browser’s original configuration.
